Exploring Rome with Julius Caesar

Step back in time to the streets of ancient Rome, long before the Colosseum rose to dominate the skyline, or the grand marble temples of the imperial era reshaped the city. This tour invites you to explore the very neighborhood where Julius Caesar was born and imagine the city as he might have known it. A bustling, somewhat chaotic place that felt more medieval than monumental.

Our journey begins in the winding alleys of the Suburra, the heart of Rome’s urban life in the 1st century BCE. Here, wooden insulae (apartment buildings) towered over narrow streets, markets spilled into every corner, and the air buzzed with the calls of merchants, craftsmen, and children at play. From the Suburra, we’ll head to Caesar's forum, a huge plaza donated to Rome's citizens after his victories in Gaul, where we will learn about his bloodline connection to the Goddess Venus!

As we continue through the forum we shall admire temples, learn about ancient deities, and uncover the rituals and stories that shaped daily life.

Finally, the tour concludes with a spectacular view from the Palatine Hill, overlooking the heart of ancient Rome.
