In the Footsteps of St. Peter

Rome, mid-1st century AD: Peter, a fisherman from Galilee, arrives in the capital of the empire to preach the message of Christ: in a city of temples and imperial power, he becomes the leader of the fledgling Christian community.

Our journey begins along the Ancient Appian Way, at the small Church of Domine Quo Vadis. According to tradition, Peter met Christ here while fleeing Nero's persecutions. After asking “Domine, quo vadis?” (“Lord, where art Thou going?”), he decides to return to the city and face his fate.

We then follow the story of his arrest and captivity, shared with Saint Paul, at the Mamertine Prison, before ending at St. Peter's Basilica, built over the apostle’s tomb and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Christian world.
